Education for fishermen’s children More...
St. Elizabeth's Convent: A school for 800 children
St. Elizabeth’s Convent (run by Franciscan nuns) takes very good care of the children from 800 poor fishermen's families, from the kindergarten right up to class 7. After the 7th class, it is important for the girls to receive vocational training instead of staying at home, where they are frequently married off at a very young age. The boys too, must find new livelihoods, as fishing no longer brings a living wage, and the fishermen families cannot pay for their children's vocational training.
We are collecting donations for school fees and transport to school More...
Dayabhavan: Home for healthy children of AIDS patients
The boys with Dayabhavan come from families where the parents, because of sickness or death, cannot look after their children any more. Our Indian partner organisation has achieved much in providing accommodation, clothes, food, and care for the boys, who are usually traumatised. Additional costs for the most talented boys at the English Medium School need to be funded. The boys are ambitious and study hard.
The boys should receive a good education! More...
Snehasadan: Boys' home in Bangalore
In June 2007, the young boys of the children's home NAMS Snehasadan in Bangalore transferred from the nearby village school to the 6 km distant Convent Medium School. All the children managed the transition well, although it was not easy to meet the higher entrance qualifications. Our means are used for school fees, uniforms, text books and fares.
Girls need a good education! More...
St. Joseph Sai Maa: Girls' home in Trivandrum, Kerala
The first ten girls have already completed their training as hotel trade specialists. 23 girls will complete the 12th class in March 2008, and after the 12th class, they should start their vocational training. 22 girls should enter the 12th class in May 2008 and further 14 girls the 11th class. We have established an educational fund, in order to enable the girls to continue their education and to ensure financial support until they complete their qualification.
Computercourses for blind young persons More...
Mitra Jyothi: Relief organisation for the Blind in Bangalore/India
Following the move into the newly built centre, now the first computer courses for blind young persons take place. Thanks to voice output software, blind people can communicate perfectly with a computer. The young persons who learn these skills will have very good prospects of finding a qualified job in Bangalore.
Disabled young people, too, need a good education! More...
Mar Gregorios: Rehabilitation Centre in Trivandrum, India
The Mar Gregorios Center cares for about 150 young people in a vast rural area near Trivandrum, the capital of the South Indian State of Kerala. These young people have different disabilities or belong to the poorest section of the population.
Children need a Good Education!

It is not enough to provide children with clothing, board and lodging. They also need a good education and vocational training to enable them to master their lives as adults.

We therefore promote  in India the education of children and young people who are very deprived:

  • Girls from poor fishermen’s families
  • Children of AIDS patients
  • Blind children and young people
  • Children of severely disabled parents
  • Children from difficult social conditions (orphans, semi-orphans)
